HARTFORD CT - November 3, 1998 -- The U.S. Small Business
Administration (SBA) reported this year that 50 percent of U.S. retail
sales by the year 2000 will come from franchises, which means a wave of
new opportunities is now available to people who dream about owning a
business.
Penn Ritter, executive vice president of Business Lenders and
charirperson of the Connecticut SBA Advisory Council, will be the
keynote speaker at the 1998 New England Franchise Opportunity Seminar,
the first of its kind to come to New England. Sponsored by Business
Lenders, the seminar is an interactive forum for franchise industry
leaders to share their insights on the growth and benefits of owning a
franchise. Joining Ritter will be executives from nine of the nation's
top franchises, including Moto Photo, Inc., Mail Boxes Etc., and
7-Eleven Stores, to offer an overview of franchise ownership, discuss
franchise opportunities, and address financing options.
Students from New England's top three business specialty colleges-Bryant
College, Babson College, and Bentley College have been invited to the
seminars.
Three sessions will be held at The Ramada Hotel in Woburn, Mass.,
beginning Saturday, November 14 from 9:00 a.m. to 11:00 a.m., and 2:00
