Top-Ten SBA Lender Names President Gary Mullin to Head Business Lenders, LLC
HARTFORD, CT - February 11, 1999 -- Business Lenders, LLC, one of the nation's 10 largest non-bank Small Business Administration (SBA) lenders, and a subsidiary of Medallion Financial Group (NASDAQ:TAXI), today announced that Gary Mullin has been named President.
Formerly Executive Vice President, Mullin co-founded Business Lenders in 1994 to specialize in providing loans to small businesses and start-up companies. Business Lenders has been named a "preferred lender" by the SBA and recently reached the $100 million mark in new loan volume.

Mullin has 24 years of experience in the financial services industry. At Business Lenders, he's helped the company achieve preferred lender status with the SBA in less than three years. Prior to co-founding the company, Mullin founded a financial services and venture capital consulting firm. Previously, Mullin was executive vice president and senior credit officer of Fleet Bank, North America. Earlier in his career, at Connecticut Bank and Trust, he managed the start-up of a commercial banking program for middle market business in western Connecticut, and was general manager of the statewide Small Business Services Division, which grew from $150 million to over $500 million in a three-year period.
A Pendleton, Ore. native, Mullin graduated from Yale University in 1974. He earned his MBA in Finance from the University of New Haven in 1980.
Mullin resides in Orange, Conn. with his wife, AnneMarie, and his children, Garan and Ariana.
